If you guys don't mind I would like to post here all my favorite tactics, maybe people find it useful.

1st think to have in mind is that you cannot finish all games, you must try and try and try...
2nd should you play random, these will be my tactics, should you play upgrade, would be alot easier to finish.

Also, nothing is certain, like this first replay you will see... my carry did not get upgrade until level 80+ something since 30+, however he carried 50 levels, and as we all know lvl 30-lvl 80 are the hardest.

This only happens in random mode, should you find yourself playing upgrade, this tactic should get you to level 150 simply with 1 carry tower and some support.

After 150 the factors deciding what will happen are the items and oils you get, theres no way in this game to finish it without those 2 important things, not on extreme anyway.

No matter what elements i pick, i end up building the same way and the same towers all over again because they work fine together.

EDIT:

To summarize all this:

The game is simple logic at one point
3 steps to success
1. Knowing your element
2. Considering bug nest or baby plants will win you the game is wrong
3. Good placing for all your towers
3 steps till finish
1. As nuBz said, reach level 100 with more than 90% lives
2. Make sure you have a real carry or 2(i like spirit + bonk, works best).
3. Should you have just enough oils to finish it, choose your elements wisely:
a. nature = crit + speed + spelldmg bonus
b. darkness = -armor
c. astral = bonus dmg / spelldmg + -armor, and most important: trigger chances and experience(if you use it at start)
d. iron = item chance/quality debuffing towers
e. fire = high crits + -armor + huge debuff damage
f. storm = (should u prefer main carry a caster) huge spelldmg and spellcrit bonuses
g. ice = slow (says everything you need to know)

EDIT2:

People ask me what elements i start with or like or play etc..

I don't, I don't and I absolutely do not care with what I go first:

if first 6 levels are sol i`m not going to do storm

if first 6 levels are myt instead, ofcourse i go ice

I like all elements and i will finish it with all elements and post it here so that you see that nothing is impossible if you want it.

If you would ask of me to tell you the easiest way to pick elements i`d say this:

Go nature + ice at start, skill both at the same time, get astral and storm as 3rd and 4th and fire and darkness as last, but no matter how you do it you will get the same towers all over again, you dont get better uniques, after lvl 200 you wont know what towers to build...

using a strat of mine can get u to the finish line with less than 80 food.

EDIT3

!!!!!! READ !!!!!!!

Combining 2 elements at start will help you a bit, but might not give you the upgrades you expect. There is a 75% chance to do better with 2.

Just look at the end of the 2nd replay guys, that owl is simply amazing.

EDIT:

Just finished 361, my mate had owl carry... he went through immune levels like with a Frozen spirit at lvl 66 at a mass level(lvl66).

Should you make it to level 150 with over 75% lives, viewtopic.php?f=49&t=6094&start=45. I couldnt save replay unfortunately, but you can make an idea of the towers that really count having.

Monolith of chaos is a MUST have, same with any other armor decaying towers...

Turned out i didn't get 1 good oil, however i made it to 240, with 2x Soul Collector's Cloak.(max dmg but no crit)

112% item chance 100% item find.

Edit:

This is just me, you will get oils you need don't worry. Frozen spirit, first 6 oils = Tears... not 1 hobbit, rune or soul...

Ice,

I played ice at start, then went for astral since i had no grave...

Did not get any good items, towers were all there though.

150 levels, all i needed was items and maybe a couple wizard souls...

Nature ice, since many like that one... bad time to pick easy difficulty... just when my luck was changed :).

Again, lost at immune, curtesy of Owl of Wisdom not coming again...

ICE + ASTRAL + STORM = MAX SD DPS
Eh... besides the fact that we leaked "permanent ethereal level" lol, we did great, my mate, however didnt really chose a good spot for his carry and the wyrm or volcano-man didnt really do any damage late, you can see it all in the replay... shows to go ya': good positioning = win.
