Description
Attacks with highly impractical aircraft.

Abilities
Special Training
On higher levels the copters specialize.

On level 7: Copter 1 has its damage type changed to Elemental, each rocket ' s AoE is increased by 25% and the attacks gain a napalm modifier. Napalm causes a 20% slow and 50% of the tower ' s attack damage as Elemental damage per second for 5 seconds.

On level 15: Copter 2 will change its machine-gun-missiles to a long ranged tesla coil, changing the damage type to Energy and increasing attack range to 2140. Furthermore its armor reduction base effect is increased to 50%, but the slow is decreased to 10%.

On level 25: Copter 3 will become a legendary Ghost Warrior. Ghost Warriors have an on-board teleportation device, allowing them to teleport behind targets every 5 seconds. Shooting delays the charging of the teleportation device.
Helicopter Zone
3 helicopters circle around the tower trying to stay within 1000 range of it. If there are targets in front of a helicopter, it will attack them dealing the tower ' s attack damage as Physical damage.
Helicopters attack every 0.25 seconds with a barrage of 3 missiles spaced 250 range apart and exploding in 140 AoE. Damaged targets are slowed by 50% and their armor is reduced by 30% for 0.8 seconds.
Not affected by attack speed.

Level Bonus:
+0.4% armor reduction
Targeted Run
Copter 1 will teleport behind the target after a delay of 1 second.

This is the discussion thread for the tower update Helicopter Zone (1897).
This tower is an update to Helicopter Zone v33 (id:1686)

Creator's comments for this update:

Improved performance a bit: removed a needless SquareRoot (instead using squared values) and needless repetitions of geometric functions
triple update since first two updates went to hell

This update removes 12 SquareRoot and 88 Cos/Sin function calls from each second for each Helicopter Zone in game. Geometric functions would appear to be pretty lightweight though.

Am I right that this Tower does not benefit from attack speed and sorcery oils/Items?

It is in the long ability tooltip (but it is in red to make it stand out more, which probably just makes you skip reading it entirely), but not in the short tooltip. Short tooltip is what you see before you build the tower.
I guess I'll add it there so that people can know about it before building the tower.

Creator's reason for this update:

Added info about not being affected by attack speed to short_tooltip

e: todo; instead of calculating x&y fully for each loop -- just += cos and sin distances to remove a multiplication
also remove one variable from anglestuff
ee: todo; also bypass the Projectile.direction API dumbification and access the radians value directly to avoid degree/radians conversions. ((p.direction operator returns bj_RADTODEG*this.dir, which I then multiply by bj_DEGTORAD, so stupid)) --- sadly, need to first change .dir to be readonly rather than private

so to sum it up you can make helicopters launch a glaive lazerbeam through charmeleons glaive WHILE it has a multishot attack through fan of knives AND a line piercing extra projectile that deals no dmg to the initial target through overcharged shot then you can even add a phase glove to go part spell dmg cause xtreme armored are annoying ALL AT THE SAME TIME! :D well its not supposed to be able to attack so i thought i should report it :X

The attacks from Enchanted Knives shouldn't do any damage, because they are actual attacks and trigger the onDamage that sets the damage to 0. Phase Gloves shouldn't do anything either, unless something like Elune's Bow sets the event damage to be higher than zero before the Phase Gloves trigger.

The behavior is more or less intended, because it's funny.

Major flaws or imbalances were found. The tower will be removed from the map until these flaws are fixed. If this is your tower, please apply the recommended fixes as soon as possible to get your tower back into the map!

If armor reduction and slow must be reducted, then the damage of helicopter affected by attack speed bonuse is reasonable, I think, such as setting damage=attack damage*attack speed. And Targetted Run being able to affect immunes seems better.
