this looks nice :O, could be an awsome counter, for people that specificaly use around 1 type of "damage",

have you thought about making towers that lets say..

30% will deal Essence damage
30% will deal energy damage
etc etc, that would be such an awsome addition tbh :)

i would feel unlucky if i get this item, and would rather trade it against any crapy oil if possible.

Usualy its easy to deal tons of spelldamage, as spelldamage is by far overused in most towers and items. So i dont see any benefit in this item and anger losing my rare drop to something useless.

I can change it so it deals 10% of its attackdamage as bonus spelldamage and not decrease attackdamage

well if playing only physical damage this item is quite nice it would encourage people to use the furbolg tower for example and to put as many oils into it even spelldamage oils would be nice.

I was looking at your code, and I am unsure of one thing:
- does tower.doSpellDamage() cause an on damage trigger to be executed?
if it does, then you could have an infinite recursive loop. I don't know the
answer though.

Also, I thought through my random damage type idea -- the item people would really 'want' is one that converts a fraction of tower damage to 'essence' damage. I think it makes more sense than picking a random damage type. The magic damage isn't a bad idea though. Since there is the ++XArmor concept.

I think the engine has right now some problems with damage events fireing other damage events. I cannot approve it until this is fixed.

You should add an if Event.isMainTarget(). At the moment the item also tries to change spell damage to spell damage and splash.

Does it produce a looping recursion with thread crash? Does the spelldamage trigger the ability again?
