The thing above my fireplace? Ye, that was my first optimist.

The carrier of this item ' s damage is modified by the amount of hp the creep has left. The range goes from +75% damage when the creep has full hp to -50% damage when the creep has no hp left.

This item my seem pretty strong, but it has one big weakness. The tower deals less damage the closer the creep is to death. In other words, the chance that the user of this item deals the killing blow gets smaller with each attack. And less last hits means less exp and items (if on carry).

Doesn't seem too strong, since it causes you to deal less than 100% damage on average.

The damage decreases linearly from 175% to 50% which means the tower deals an average damage of (175 + 50) / 2 = 225 / 2 = 112.5%. That's a damage increase of 12.5%. Also the lower cap of 50% damage cannot be reached because a target with 0% hp is dead. Furthermore hard-hitting towers suffer less from this item because at the point where those tower's deal reduced damage, the target has so low hp that it doesn't matter. For example, if a tower's unmodified attack deals 40% of the creep's hp as damage then the creep will die if it has 40% or less hp effectively ignoring the damage reduction of the item. That also means that a tower which deals that much damage effectively never falls below 100% damage (at 40% hp the damage with the item is exactly 100% and everything below 40% dies even with the damage reduction applied).

Because of all those reasons the item seems to be pretty balanced. Also keep in mind that the damage bonus is multiplicative.

Ya. This item is like the fist of doom except it has no -exp feedback. But then again I do that with zombie head for +100% damage and I don't even have to drop it until the last 2 hits on the boss. This item is fine.

So if you have 5 of these on your carry, you will heal the creep unless you 1 hit it?

Open up the "onDamage" hidebox and read.

Even for non-programmers, it should be pretty easy to understand.

The damage gets multiplied by a value between 0.5 - 1.75, based on the creep's hp. It is thus not possible for it to ever go negative. If there's more than one of this item on the tower, it'll just multiply more than once. So in the worst cast, two of these will cause the tower to deal 0.5 * 0.5 = 1/4 of its normal damage.

I guess we could make the item place an invisible buff on the tower, and move the onDamage event into that buff. Wouldn't stack then. And not hacky :)
